Rehabilitacja – szkolenia z terapii manualnej

Rehabilitation – training in manual therapy. Manual therapy deals with the treatment of functional disorders of the motor organs. The name itself comes from the method of conducting the therapy – the therapist presses the appropriate points on the patient’s body, thanks to which the muscle balance is restored. It is a very popular method of treating ailments of the spine and joints – therefore every therapist should consider expanding their qualifications in this field.

Seven-module training Manual therapy, as the name suggests, focuses in one hundred percent on expanding the knowledge of rehabilitators about manual therapy. Rehabilitation courses are held in five cities: Kraków, Poznań, Warsaw, Gdańsk and Wrocław. Its cost is PLN 2,000; you can sign up for training in Polish or conducted in German, with the help of an interpreter. Both therapists and doctors can participate in the training.

The training was developed together with the German Association of Physiotherapists, and more precisely – its educational institution, the Academy of Physiotherapists from Wremen  . During the course, rehabilitators learn how to diagnose and treat disorders of the structural organs of movement (joints, muscles, nerves). The methods come from the German system; During the training, trainees will learn how to effectively conduct a good interview with the patient, and thus find out which structures have been damaged and to what extent.

Each of the seven modules that the training consists of lasts five days – the total duration of the course is 240 hours (lesson, or 45 minutes), thanks to which rehabilitators can be sure that they will thoroughly explore the secrets of manual therapy. In order to make sure that everyone appropriately assimilates the knowledge, subsequent modules start with the repetition of the existing ones, and the last module is the repetition of the entire material. The first six modules are as follows:

  • Cervical spine shoulder girdle (including introduction to manual therapy and basics of biomechanics)
  • Spine (head joints, cervico-thoracic junction), upper limb (shoulder, elbow, hand)
  • Spine (lumbar, thoraco-lumbar transition), sacroiliac joints, lower limb (hip)
  • Spine (thoracic), lower limb (knee, foot)
  • Clinical course (headache, dizziness), dark circles, unusual clinical images
  • Medical Functional Training (including practical work with equipment and training machines)

Rehabilitation training ends with a theoretical and practical exam, and the obtained diploma is highly valued in offices both in Poland and abroad, as it means a high level of competence of the physiotherapist using it. The entire course takes up to three years as there are a maximum of three, usually two, modules per year.

If you are more interested in the issue of Medical Functional Training, you also have the opportunity to sign up for the training under the same name in 2019. It is conducted in Krakow and Warsaw and lasts five days – 44 hours in total. As in Manual Therapy, this course is intended for both physiotherapists and doctors.

The training focuses on topics such as movement science, training plans, training methods, muscle physiology or training on devices – students will acquire not only theoretical but also practical knowledge in this field.

Training participants will gain knowledge about the methodology of training and learning about movement, the basics of training on devices with an individually defined purpose, as well as contraindications for this type of rehabilitation. As for the skills themselves, students will learn to determine the forces acting on muscles and joints, define individual goals in rehabilitation or how to use training devices depending on specific indications. The cost of participation in the training is 2000 PLN.

In children, manual therapy looks slightly different than in adults . A specialized course, Manual Therapy in Children, allows you to deepen the knowledge of childhood anatomy, motor development and childhood diseases that can be eliminated with the help of manual therapy.

The issues discussed during the course deepen the knowledge of both theoretical and practical physiotherapists participating in it.

The training is conducted in Wrocław and Kraków, and the language of instruction is German (with Polish translation). The hosts are two recognized German physiotherapists, experts in manual therapy, Petra Hasselhoff-Styhler and Petra Kruse-Bothe.

The course lasts four days in total. Its cost is about PLN 2,100.
